How does it work?

• Semi-permeable membrane: The heart of the system is a special membrane that allows water vapor to pass through, but blocks larger molecules. This membrane is often made of a material such as hydrogel.
• Water reservoir: There is a water reservoir inside the humidor. This reservoir is in direct contact with the membrane.
• Evaporation: The water in the reservoir evaporates slowly and is released through the membrane into the humidor.
• Humidity: The released water vapor provides the proper humidity in the humidor, which is essential for cigar preservation.
• Regulation: The amount of water vapor released is regulated by your Raching electric humidor.

Why is a membrane filter important?

• Constant humidity: A membrane filter ensures stable and constant humidity, which is crucial for preventing the cigars from drying out or over-moistening.
• Cigar protection: Maintaining proper humidity protects the cigars from cracking, bursting and loss of flavor.
• Convenience: Membrane filters are generally easy to use and maintain. You should replace them every 3 months. In the MON series, this does not apply and you therefore have less maintenance.
